This is all about V.I.P. 'Billy Lyell' a 'Very Important Puppy'....
Billy was born on May 19th 2007 in Kilwinning, and when Sondra, the daughter of Brigitte, the editor of CMDS, saw him, she fell in love with him instantly, and just had to have him. Sondra was living at home at the time, so Billy's first few months were a bit of a family affair.
He grew up to be the cutest, cleverest, cheekiest and most loving little dog with a big personality, and he truly is a joy to have around.
Then Sondra finally got her own place and the 2 of them moved there. Now Billy comes over every day while Sondra is at work, and stays with his Gran Brigitte and Papa Danny, and their lurcher 'Tammy' and cat 'Oscar', and is very much part of the CMDS team. The first few months of his life were very busy indeed, most of that time he spent shredding everything in sight....not always with agreement of the rest of the team. :-)))) These days he is a little more choosy....thank goodness!
Billy is always busy and very friendly with everyone who comes to the house, but he gets most upset if they are trying to leave again. When you are IN....you are IN !!!!
Sadly Tammy and Oscar are not with is any longer. Billy took it very hard when they went to heaven in October 2008, and pined for them for a long time. It took him a while to get back to his cheery happy self, but still remembers them very well when their names are mentioned. Both Tammy and Oscar had not been well for a long time, and it was kinder to let them both go. Tammy was only 10, she had Alzheimers and was very confused and unwell with it. (No, we didn't know either that animals can get this dreadful illness.) Oscar was 18...but still acting like a young thing. But he had dreadful stomach problems, being sick a few times a day...every day. He was losing weight all the time, and you could see that he was in pain.
For a while now Billy has his own space in the Mag, has had since before X-mas 2007. A lot of people ask after Billy and say that his blurb is the first bit they look for when they get the new Mag. Nice to know....Billy just loves talking to everyone....
CMDS Team Member ‘Billy’ here...
Hi, I’m back!
Hope you had a good time over the last couple of months. The days are getting longer and by the time you read this, the clocks will have changed. Its great now that it’s a bit warmer again, but me and Bobby are dreading to get our hair cut again. Its REALLY long just now to keep us warm. But both my Gran and my Mum try brushing us, but its sore, so it’ll probably be all cut off by the time you see us again.
We haven’t really done an awful lot, just lazed about. We still have the catflap from when we had our cat Oscar, but it’s not big enough for the 2 of us...as you can see! But its good to be able to go in and out when we want to. Even Bobby can do it no problem now, but I think its shrunk a bit ‘cause sometimes I can’t get back in. Either that, or I have been eating too many treats! …..OR it could just be because we have that much hair now!
Just want to say ‘HI’ to Garry and Glenda from Yorkshire. My Auntie Pat told me that they like my chat and read by bit first. Wow!
My Gran and Papa are going to work at the Northern Nashville Festival over Easter, am I glad we don’t need to sit in that van for all those hours, but we did panic a wee bit because we thought we had to go into kennels. My Mum is working and can’t get the time off to look after us. But now its been worked out that we stay with my Uncle Tommy. My Mum will drop us off on her way to work, and then pick us up again at night. Am I glad, remember its over the Easter week-end, and I thought we wouldn’t get any Easter eggs!!! Panic over!!!
Remember I told you a while ago about our Uncle David losing his dog Faily? Well, he couldn’t live without a 4-legged friend, and has now rescued a wee puppy, called her Poppy. Faily would be so pleased. We haven’t met her yet, I’ll tell you all about it when we do. Just as well mind you, my Gran is knitting a blanket for her, and its not finished yet.
Not much else to tell you, t
alk to you in June!
Yours, Billy. X
