This is all about V.I.P. 'Billy Lyell' a 'Very Important Puppy'....
Billy was born on May 19th 2007 in Kilwinning, and when Sondra, the daughter of Brigitte, the editor of CMDS, saw him, she fell in love with him instantly, and just had to have him. Sondra was living at home at the time, so Billy's first few months were a bit of a family affair.
He grew up to be the cutest, cleverest, cheekiest and most loving little dog with a big personality, and he truly is a joy to have around.
Then Sondra finally got her own place and the 2 of them moved there. Now Billy comes over every day while Sondra is at work, and stays with his Gran Brigitte and Papa Danny, and their lurcher 'Tammy' and cat 'Oscar', and is very much part of the CMDS team. The first few months of his life were very busy indeed, most of that time he spent shredding everything in sight....not always with agreement of the rest of the team. :-)))) These days he is a little more choosy....thank goodness!
Billy is always busy and very friendly with everyone who comes to the house, but he gets most upset if they are trying to leave again. When you are IN....you are IN !!!!
Sadly Tammy and Oscar are not here any more now. Billy took it very hard when they went to heaven in October 2008, and pined for them for a long time. It took him a while to get back to his cheery happy self, but still remembers them when their names are mentioned. Both Tammy and Oscar had not been well for a long time, and it was kinder to let them both go. Tammy was only 10, Oscar was 18...but still acting like a young thing.
For a while now Billy has his own space in the Mag, has had since before X-mas 2007. A lot of people ask after Billy and say that his blurb is the first bit they look for when they get the new Mag. Nice to know....Billy just loves talking to everyone....
CMDS Team Member ‘Billy’ here...
Geeeee, am I glad the last couple of months are over. It’s not been a good time. My Papa was ill, and me and Bobby had to sit in the car at the hospital sometimes for hours. Papa is on the mend now, thank goodness, and things are getting back to normal. But you know what….my Gran even got me to make some of the phone-calls! I didn’t like that at all, so please, next time you call US, please!
Then it was my Papa’s BIG Birthday, that was fun, even though we had to go into kennels for the night, but you know what, my Uncle Irvine came over from Ireland as a surprise, he was fun and played with us a lot! Thanks!
But soon after that it was back to the kennels ‘cause my Gran and Papa wanted to go to the Festival in Ayr. We were in there for 4 days, they even cut my hair while we were there!!!!! Can you believe that?
Remember my lurcher Auntie Tammy, who went to Heaven last October? I keep forgetting to tell you that her best childhood friend ‘Faily’ joined her there. Auntie Tammy used to tell me how the 2 of them used to play chase in the ocean, and had a lot of fun. I am sorry I never met her, but she sounds as if she was a lovely dog, and I know my Uncle David is missing her loads! At least Faily & Tammy are together now!
Can you believe that wee Bobby has been here for over 6 months now? He really is good fun, and we play ‘chase me’. And he is getting really good at barking at the postman, or chase the milkboy...as long as we get out the catflap quick enough...he, the milkboy, knows we are there now, and runs very fast to get out the gate, then just stops ‘till my Gran comes and holds on to us. Its sooooo funny, we are just barking, but may be he thinks we are going to hurt him! As if!
Bobby and me also share our bed, that’s ok, but when I am in HIS, he tries to get in beside me. That doesn’t work, cause its just too small! I hope you are ok in this cold and wet weather, my Gran put t-shirts on us, cause we were both shivering so much after our haircut. But now she is talking about getting us jeans! NOOOOO Way!!!!!
Its not long ‘till Christmas now. Wonder if Santa will come to me, and yes, I BELIEVE...just in case!!
Have a great time over the Festive Season, and have a great New Year! C U next year, lots of love, yours, Billy. X
(HeHe! Could be ME!")
